Northwest Christian Schools and Saint George’s School will renew their rivalry on the basketball court on Friday, January 9th, with the 5th Annual “Battle of the Holy Grail” rivalry game at the Northwest Christian Upper Campus Gym in Colbert. The girls’ game starts at 6:00 p.m. with the boys’ game following at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Both schools bring a championship basketball legacy to the court for their spirited rivalry game, hoping to capture bragging rights and the Holy Grail Trophy — currently held by Northwest Christian after their win in 2014.

“The Battle for the Holy Grail” also encourages students to embrace a spirit of service to others. This year, both Northwest Christian and Saint George’s will support ParaSport Spokane. It is an organization designed to provide training and competitive athletic opportunities for youth and adults with physical disabilities. ParaSport Spokane promotes success, self-worth and independence. During the boys’ and/or girls’ basketball game, both Northwest Christian and St. George’s students will participate in a fundraiser competition for ParaSport Spokane.

Embracing a Hawaiian theme for the event, the students will also vie for points for their school playing such games as limbo, musical beach towels, and dance-offs! Judging for the competition will be based on overall spirit and participation for the evening.
