What an amazing start to the year we have had! Historically, our yearly high school retreat has been great way to start our school year, but this year seemed extra special. With our theme of Rooted, our brilliant and powerful speaker, Joanna Hyatt, provided a wonderfully real discussion about today’s philosophies that are empty and deceitful (Colossians 2:8), how we can always trust God’s truth and love, and how important it is to “let roots grow down into Him” (Colossians 2:7).
But what really put this retreat over the top was the remarkable work our ASB and Worship Team put into preparing and leading our student body over the two days of retreat. Our student leaders led with passion and our students were excited and energized, embracing the opportunities God provided for us. What a blessing it is to be a part of Northwest Christian with these young men and women.
