The overlying philosophy of the Theater Department at Northwest Christian Schools is: We believe we can use the gifts and talents God has given us to glorify Him in all we do. Using these talents is an act of worship ( Colossians 3:23 ). We believe in excellence, integrity, hard work, and total enjoyment of the theatrical process, in other words, FUN!The goal of High School theater is to produce two plays per year. We do a non-musical in the Fall and a full-blown Musical Theater experience in Spring. The Fall production is accomplished through the High School Theater Class curriculum. The Spring production is extra-curricular and open to all student body grades 8 – 12.
On a personal note: I am excited to be called to teach here at NWCS. I believe I am an enthusiastic and energetic person who can continue a rich tradition of Theater here at the school. I am excited to see what God will do through people to give back to the school community in the fine arts, specifically, Theater. It is my desire to see the Theater program continue and even grow into not only an extra-curricular play, but also into an informative class during the school day so students can learn important aspects of theater.
I have a passion for theater and for working with students so teaching Theater is a perfect avenue to “play” out. Pun intended. I have six years’ experience in local community theater, so I feel qualified to grow the Theater program.
