The Northwest Christian Homeschool Program is seeking an energetic, motivated professional with a love for children, joy in Christian service and passion for imparting the needed knowledge and ability for life long fitness to children and their families.

Homeschool History Teacher

The Northwest Christian Homeschool Program is seeking an energetic, motivated professional with a love for student development, joy in Christian service and passion for imparting the powerful lessons of history and social studies to 7-12th grade students while partnering with staff and families through a collaborative teaching dynamic involving both staff and families.

The ideal candidate will hold a current History Teacher certification and a Master’s Degree in History or a related field. Homeschooling experience is a plus.

  • Currently the teacher in this position serves 9-12 hours/week for 33-35 Thursdays in the school year preparing for and teaching 2 classes; a junior high social studies class with a rotation that includes WA State History, Logic, and Geography and a high school history class with a 3-year topic rotation between the hours of 8:00-3:10 on Thursdays. Participation in two Parent Teacher Conferences, collaborative work with staff, an annual showcase event and Senior Graduation that are scheduled on various weekdays and evenings are required.
  • Our foundational teacher also led our ASB Program and our Senior Leadership Program. These programs are led and taught in a classroom setting and require the additional skills of mentoring ability and experience, student government leadership experience, advising ability and student life skills and internship background. Our History and Student Development Programs can be taught as separate tracks and positions, but we are currently looking for a candidate that is interested in the full scope of this ministry.

  • The Early Learning Preschool Lead Teacher will be responsible for starting and growing our Early Learning Program in Partnership with our K and 1-2 teachers.
  • Co-Coordinating Pre, K-2 activities and learning groups, two annual field trips, participating in two Parent Teacher Conferences, collaborative work with staff, an annual showcase event and Senior Graduation that are scheduled on various weekdays and evenings are required.
  • Elementary teachers must have strong speaking and listening skills and must be able to observe students and maintain structure within the class. In addition to students, our Elementary teachers routinely interact with parents, fellow staff and school administrators.
