What are the admissions guidelines for Northwest Christian Schools?

At Northwest Christian Schools, our admissions process focuses on understanding each student and ensuring a strong fit with our mission. We consider application responses, academic records, and assessment results.

Family Requirements:

Our goal is to build a strong, Christ-centered community. While we are committed to providing your student with a quality gospel-centered education, we also welcome your entire family into the NWCS community. Our admissions criteria reflect the values and expectations that shape our school culture.

We require that at least one parent or guardian has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and actively participates in a local, in-person church. Families should also be committed to pursuing a Biblical lifestyle and supporting the mission and values of NWCS.

As part of the admissions process, families must agree with the NWCS Statement of Faith. We also ask families to affirm our Biblical view of marriage, which we believe is the union of one man and one woman, as instituted by God. In line with this belief, students are expected to live in homes led by a married couple or a single parent who is not living with a partner outside of marriage.

Student Requirements:

Students applying to Northwest Christian Schools should genuinely desire to be part of the NWCS community and strive to live in a way that honors the Lord Jesus Christ. This commitment should be reflected not only in their attitude and behavior, but also in their academic effort, integrity, and conduct—both at school and in the broader community.

Each student is required to take an entrance exam to determine appropriate placement and whether additional academic support may be needed. If areas of concern are identified, all relevant academic records must be submitted to the school. A testing accommodation plan may be developed in such cases, which could include an additional fee.

5th-12th grade entry: Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 with no failing grades. For those transferring mid-year, a GPA of at least 2.5 with no failing grades is required. Additionally, students must be in good academic and behavioral standing at their previous school.

Continued enrollment at NWCS is based on the student maintaining satisfactory academic performance and adhering to school policies and expectations.

For the NWCS Traditional K-12, we will need prior school records (1st-12th), immunization records, teacher references, and church references. Once the application is complete and a seat is available, we’ll schedule entrance testing, followed by a family interview with the principal. If accepted, parents will complete the online enrollment and pay the enrollment fee as a deposit for their student’s spot.   Kindergarten students must turn 5 on or before August 31 to be eligible for enrollment.

For the NWCS Homeschool K-12th grade program, please inquire about availability and submit an application including teacher and church references.  Testing and interviews will be conducted, and, if accepted, enrollment will be extended.  Additionally, we require current student immunization records.

For the NWCS Early Learning program, please inquire about availability.  Once availability is established, you will be asked to apply and pay an enrollment fee as a deposit for your student’s spot.  Additionally, we require current student immunization records.  Early learning students must be the appropriate class age on or before August 31.

Application fees and enrollment fees for all schools and all grade levels are non-refundable and non-transferable.
