Set an Example in Purity:

Spring is a very busy time at Northwest Christian Middle School and although we get excited about field trips and class activities, we are most excited to see our students love and follow Jesus Christ. We are continuing with our yearly theme of “Set an Example” (taken from 1 Timothy 4:12) and are focusing for the last two months of the year on the character trait of purity. During our accountability groups (grade level and gender specific) we are focusing specifically on social media and how to use it for God’s glory and not our own. Using a resource called, we are leading our groups through a 4-part series on what social media is, the potential dangers of using it, and, most importantly, how to think about it from a Biblical perspective. We are trusting that the Lord will use our efforts to shape the way our students think about the world around them so that they will make choices that bring honor and glory to our Savior.

7th grade Seattle Field Trip:

We had an amazing opportunity to send our 7th graders to Seattle for an overnight field trip this April. Activities included: Woodland Park Zoo, dinner at Gasworks Park, a Seattle Mariners game (which they won 14-2!), Pike Place exploration (lots of pics at the gum wall) and finally a trip to the Seattle Science Center. It was amazing to see the beauty of God’s creation in all of its various forms and we pray that this trip was an worship-filled experience for our students.

Finishing Strong

Amidst all of the busyness and fun of Spring (we have some really fun field trips coming up that I will post about later), we as a staff are continuing our mission to provide a gospel-centered education every day to every student. We are so proud of what our students have accomplished this year and are challenging them to finish the year strong. Our prayer is that the students will not only grow academically this during this last month of school, but that they would continue to grow in their knowledge and love of God.

All for the glory of Christ,

Scott Ferguson
