Science – $1,000 Fourth Place Grant Recipient – Phillip Bax from Northwest Christian School
Phillip Bax has a 4.0 gpa and has perfect scores of 5 on AP Biology and Chemistry exams, and with A’s in AP Physics and Calculus, anticipates similar results in those subject exams later this year. Phillip is a National Merit Commended Scholar, was Captain of their school’s Science Bowl Team, and a two year captain of their Knowledge Bowl team, which just won First Place for 2B Schools in the state. Phillip’s Biology teacher describes him as, “Truly one of a kind, an amazing individual who loves and has a deep understanding of science and wants to use his knowledge of science to help those around him.”
Phillip has chosen to attend Whitworth University in the fall of 2014. Whitworth University will match his $1000 grant award.
