In celebration of the Christmas season, Northwest Christian Schools offers several options for musical enjoyment!
Middle School/High School Strings and Choir Concert
Join us for our Christmas concert, “He Has Come for Us” on Thursday, December 12th, in the Northwest Christian Schools Upper Campus Chapel. The middle school choir and strings will perform at 6:30 pm. The 7th grade strings will play “Ding Dong Merrily on High.” A reception/intermission will follow at 7:15 pm. in the cafeteria. The high school choirs will perform at 7:30 pm. You will hear traditional favorites, such as “Carol of the Bells” and “Sing for Joy” by George Frederic Handel. There will also be fresh new arrangements of familiar songs, and a carol sing-along.
Middle School/High School Band Concert
Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00 pm the middle school and high school bands will perform at the Northwest Christian Schools Lower Campus Gym. “A Christmas Stomp” will feature 7th grade students playing buckets and trash cans. Another song will feature use of the average chair as an instrument. Between sets, a flute and baritone duet will be featured. The high school students will be presenting “Good King Wenceslas” by Manheim Steamroller.
Homeschool Concert
For those that would like to hear the musical talents and offerings in our homeschool program, their concert will be Thursday, December 19th, at 2:30 pm at Crossover Church located at 16825 N. Newport Highway. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be singing a selection of songs while re-creating a nativity scene. The 3rd and 4th grade will play songs on the recorders and 5th and 6th grade will demonstrate what they have learned on guitars. The high school students will be reciting a narrative from Luke 2.
Elementary Music Concert
Our Elementary Christmas Concert, “Come, Lord Jesus,” will take place on Thursday, December 19th, at 7:00 p.m. at Turning Point Open Bible Church located at 11911 N. Division. This concert will feature students from kindergarten through 5th grade. Our band, strings, choir, and recorder students will perform beloved favorites such as “The March from The Nutcracker Suite” and “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus.” There will also be new fun selections such as “Jingleosity.” The strings students will play selections such at “Jingle Bells” and “A Christmas Symphony” which is a medley of familiar Christmas favorites.
