HS engineering students recently finished their first design project this year. They built paper roller coasters for marbles. The roller coasters were required to include jumps, funnels, curves, loops and a theme. Students worked in groups of two to design these fun contraptions and built them while we discussed the design process and the importance of building foundations as a class. Students learned and practiced multiple skills, including communication, drawing design plans, building prototypes and finally testing their coaster and making alterations and adjustments along the way.
