Located on our main campus north of Spokane, our junior high school program encompasses three core values: Biblical teaching, Vibrant Instruction, and Relational focus.
This is seen in the following areas:
Academic Excellence – All teachers are Washington state certified and students receive a high level of instruction in every subject area, so they are well prepared for high school honors and AP courses.
Faith in Action – Students see how the truth of God’s word intersects with every subject as faculty balance traditional skills and values with innovative tools and technology to expand student knowledge beyond the textbook.
STEM – Principles in science, technology, engineering, and math are applied alongside basic skills for discovery and innovation.
Electives – Northwest Christian is committed to a well-rounded education that includes band, choir, art, and theater.
MAP Testing – Students participate in Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing, creating a personalized assessment that adapts to their learning level.
Learning Center – As needed, students receive individualized reading and math services using the Susan Barton method and other research-based instructional programs.
Athletics – Junior high school sports include football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, track & field, baseball, and softball.
Belonging – All of this is done in a caring and nurturing environment that emphasizes relationship.
